I had something totally frickin awesome that I was going to post about today, but Mom-Brain got the better of me. Sorry. I got nothin’.
I will tell you that I’m taking a time out on The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo because I just got my copy of Sizzling Sixteen.
Stephanie Plum will ALWAYS, beyond the shadow of a doubt, take precedence. I’ll be done with it soon and back to the TGWTDT trenches I will go. I also intend to do a 5th grade level book review on each of these books as soon as I get the chance (and when I’m done with them, of course). By golly, if that’s not something to look forward to.
I have to brag for a minute, too. I was chosen as last weeks winner in the Word Up, Yo! challenge. I am so thrilled. Mostly because I get to sport the very desireable Made Man Button. YAY!!!

He’ll reside over there in my sidebar from now on. Be jealous!

YAY! You’re the “weiner”! Doesn’t it feel good? I think we really need to come up with a name for “our” happy little guy, don’t you? Hmm, need to put on our thinking caps for this….
It does feel wonderful!
Something totally rugged like Axle. Or Darryl the Dweeb. Of course if we give him a name he wont have the mysterious allure that he does now. Hmm. What to do?…
I still haven’t gotten around to TGWDT. And yet I keep whining about finding a good book to read……
Congrats on your Word Nerd. That’s pretty awesome.
I’ve heard it’s wonderful, but at this point it’s giving me heartburn. If I can just make it a little further…
Thanks! It IS awesome. I’m a made man!
I like you Nerd Capos talking to each other.
TGWTDT is next on my list of books to read. I’m putting Sookie Stackhouse first though.
Don’t get me started on Sookie.
Hey let’s read it together! We’ll do a joint book report! If I can finish it this year, that is…
Thanks again, Don Kristin!
Congrats on your Foible Schmoible post win, and your indoctrination into the Nerd Mafia! So did you have to undergo any type of secret ritual?
Thankee, Pardner!
I bet you can guess what I’m about to say…
If I told you, I’d have to kill you.
Great…now I gotta check out this Sweet Sixteen book? I used to read like it was giong out of style…now I’m lucky to finish a book a month!
I’m finishing up the third book of GWTDT and let me just say the entire series is AWESOME and you HAVE to read them!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t read that one first. One For the Money. Start there. Let me know how hard you laugh when Grandma Mazur gets a gun in her hands. Really. It’s a quick read and WELL worth it. Drop whatever you’re doing and read it. Post haste.
Love you! Thanks for the award, Don Natalie. He looks happy over there in the sidebar, doesn’t he?
I loved “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”! How are you liking it…or how did you like it before you decided to take a break? Ha! I have the second one about the hornet’s nest but haven’t started it. I begged my husband to take me to see “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” at the theater for my birthday (in April). I didn’t tell him it was all in Swedish until we got there. The movie was more disturbing than the book, I think, but still good! Also, thanks so much for the award!! Did I thank you yet?? I’m planning on giving you some props in my next entry…which I hope is soon!
I’m supposed to be past the “slow” part but I am not seeing any upturn. Geez louise, it’s damn hard to read stuff that isn’t full of funny or sexy or both. I’ll get there though, and then I’ll pat myself on the back. I’m sure I’ll love it.
Yes, I do believe you did thank me, but I won’t hold it against you for doing it again. Thanks right back atcha for giving me something new and fun to read.
Congrats on your award winning foibles! Bizarre how we both titled with “poignant” today? And in the negative… {{cue Twilight Zone theme music}}
Thank you, Thank you. I think it wasn’t the foibles but Clint Eastwood who had the award winning qualities. He’s a cutie. How could they resist?
Umm, yeah. Totally bizarre-o. That’s weird stuff right there.
I remember when I used to read, oh that was called a magazine.
Is that the one with the cake crumbs? Hee Hee.
I have the last book in the Stieg Larsson. I LOVE his books, but I cannot bring myself to read this last one, because then I will be done. And there are no more books from Mr. Larsson. Are there sadder words than “published posthumously?” I think not. Sigh.
And I tried a Janet Evanovich book. Too flashy for me. Too much like candy and not enough like a meal. Sorry.
Love you, though!
I look forward to your 5th grade book reports!
Really? Which book did you read?
I might be overshooting a bit. They might be more on a 2nd grade level. I’m not sure.
If you read One For the Money and you weren’t hooked by Grandma Mazur alone, I don’t know what to tell you. Or maybe I’m just that much of a loser. Probably the latter.
I really want to read those! I hear they are fantastic!
If you are speaking of the Evanovich series, yes they are indeedy.
If you’re talking about the Stieg Larsson ones, I’m having major issues not setting TGWTDT on fire and laughing an evil and sinister laugh as I watch it burn.
This is my first visit to your site, were we seperated at birth? tee hee. I really enjoy your posts and can identify with each one on a level. I LOVE Janet Evanovich and never thought I would be “in” to a series writer like her. I laugh out loud most times and anything she writes, i have found, is worth reading. Can’t wait to jump into this one with both feet! Must get through Bullet first. Keep it up sis.
*see* you soon!
I’m glad you came by!
I know all about the laughing out loud. I actually woke my husband up one night laughing so hard.
Thanks!
