Ex floor, that is. I hope this one lasts a bit longer than it’s predecessors.
Just for you, a bunch of pictures. Aren’t you so frickin excited?!?! ::clears throat::
I had to share with you our 6th, yes SIXTH, floor replacement. We’re magnets for leaks and floods, apparently. So.
The boys aren’t such fans of the helping, but I told them they were going to get to tear something up and they were all over it. Go figure.
I was so happy we upped our flood insurance coverage. Of course this one was not because of a slab leak or a pipe busting in the wall. Nope, this was all Tim’s fault. The toilet overflowed when no one was looking… or was that my fault? I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree. Either way, I got me some LOVELY new carpet out of the deal. No more Pergo! YAY!!!

WOW… the rooms look beautiful…

Thank you!
I love the boys’ destruction dance in their stripedy pants.
Love.
And hello! Gorgeous rooms!
I am all envious of people with finished rooms.

I laughed so hard. Glad I had my camera handy.
Thank you. And oh! They are in NO way finished. My house is in a constant state of unfinished-ness. Something is always broken or trashed or lacking something, so we’re in the same boat, friend.
SIX floor replacements? Oh, poor you! I cannot imagine.
Although that happy dance picture is pretty terrific.
Yep. Six. Starting with the incredibly ridiculously nasty carpet that was here when we moved in. I will never forget that smell. When we looked at the house while we were house hunting, it smelled lovely. I guess they had some sort of magic candle or something. When we moved in? No choice but to replace them. And then chaos the other times.
I desperately want to do a destruction happy dance. But without the whole “fixing what I’ve destroyed” part.

Ha! What I would give to have the energy to pull off the happy dance like they did. Also? I didn’t have to fix anything. My motto is never EVER do something yourself that you could easily hire someone to do even if it bankrupts you. Smart huh?
Nicely done! I love the way you positioned your bed & the crib in the corners instead of up against a wall. I may have to try that…
Thank you! I like the corner placement too, even though it does take up a lot more space than putting the beds up against the wall. Who cares about space, though, right?
House looks great Roxane. We were magnets for roof problems at our last house. Had to replace it 2 1/2 times in 5 years. Once it was fixed, we up and moved. Thankfully the roof problems haven’t followed us over here. The light in Lily’s nursery looks like heaven is shining down upon her

Ah yes. The roof. Another story for another day. I know all about the roof problems, too.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that light in her room. You can’t see it in the pictures but it actually throws little bitty rainbows all over the walls from the crystals. I couldn’t have found a better light for my little angel.
They look really good. And I love the happy dance by your boys.
Thank you Liz! Those boys crack me up
Wah! I want my rooms to be magazine beautiful.
And those rooms are! Good work!
Magazine beautiful? Now that’s a compliment! Thank you!!!
LOVE the pajama pants dancing!

Me too! I think it was my favorite part of the whole floor reno.
I got Lily’s toy box today! SO excited!!! I’ll send pictures.
Talk about silver lining. I am dying to replace the floors in our bedrooms. But do I want an overflowing toilet…? It just might be worth it.
Everything looks so good now – great work!! And I love the pictures of the boys helping. Precious.

The only bad part about the overflowing toilet was when the boys decided to PLAY in the water like crazy people. We scurried trying to get it cleaned up before they could, but no luck. Umm, ewwwwwwwww.
Thank you!
yay for insurance!
place looks great.

Yes. Thank goodness. The only problem was the $1800 deductible… I guess that’s what happens when you get the ultimate in water damage coverage. Oh well.
I love carpets in bedrooms.
Hardwood in the living areas…
Cozy carpets in the bedrooms.
Looks lovely!

Yes comfy is a requirement when it comes to the bedrooms. I hated that my feet were always cold when I got in or out of bed. Yay for carpet!
Wow – that looks like a heckuva lot of work! But look at the finished product! BEEUTIFUL! Good job, Mama. And that toilet incident couldn’t have been your fault. It just couldn’t have.
Actually, it was incredibly easy and barely took us any time at all. The boards weren’t glued down so they just popped right out. Easy peasy! I can’t take credit for the carpet. I did pick it out though… does that count?
I am sticking with blaming it on Tim. Yep, he did it
You are clearly far more dedicated to home improvement than I would ever be!
Maybe (I’m not really all that dedicated exactly) but you have the sewing thing on me. I wouldn’t even know how to turn a sewing machine on.
I guess that makes us kinda…even?
